Northern California Bicycle Racing Community
A portion of the team met this morning to do a time trial up Eldridge Grade on Mt. Tam. Paul, Carl, Kevin, Mandy and I left together and did our first timed run up Eldridge for the year. It is still a little early in the training for a personal best, but these times give us an idea how our training is going and a good benchmark by which to judge improvement in the months ahead. It was a beautiful day and there were lots of other people out. Luckily we were going uphill on a fireroad, so there were no issues with other riders.
Here are the specs:
Start at the bottom of Eldridge grade (instersection of Fish Grade/Eldridge/Shaver, down near Phoenix lake) and finish at the green gate where Eldridge Grade hits the pavement, just down the hill from East Peak.
Around 2000 ft of climbing and 5.5 miles.
Jim - 36m 59s - P.R. (personal record) 34m 16s
Carl - 40m 4s
Paul - 42m 40s - P.R. 42m 24s
Kevin - 49m 10s
Mandy - 58m 51s
Decent times by everyone. Room for improvement as we train and race into peak fitness.
