Thank god the sun was shining this year. I was about in about the middle of the pack after the first hike a bike. along the lake I watched a grout of about 15 drop riders who were trying to draft. I hung on a few wheels along that but a group of about 10 broke away as I struggled to bridge the gaps. I passed one more guy through the whoops and yoyoed off the back of Gaberaham Lincoln throughout the single track. I got passed two more times on the loose sandy down hill but they both crashed and I passed them back. along the final climb I got around Gabe but was passed by a dude in a Sierra Nevada jersey and a dude in a rasta colored jersey. There were another three or four guys who had bonked and were hiking up the climb. At the top of the climb I thought to my self, it would suck real bad to get passed now, so I cranked it as hard as I could and passed the dude in the rasta jersey at the airport. When I hit the track a saw a guy about 100 yards ahead of me and decided to see if I couldn't chase him down. But the gap was too big and he got me by about ten feet at the finish line. I finished in third place and I think I may have even bet my own course record.
